The Cairo Street restaurant's company appointed a liquidator on 21 October. Its last accounts showed net liabilities of £361,753, almost double the year before.
The company behind Pendergast Steakhouse and Bar on Cairo Street in Warrington town centre has gone into liquidation.
Pendergast Steakhouse Warrington Limited passed a resolution to wind up voluntarily at a meeting on 21 October. A liquidator was appointed the same day. Both notices were published in The Gazette on 27 October. (Resolutions for winding-up, notice 5238299; appointment of liquidators, notice 5238350)
What the notices say
- Company: Pendergast Steakhouse Warrington Limited, company number 14076115, trading as Pendergast Steakhouse and Bar
- Trading address: 15 Cairo Street, Warrington WA1 1EE
- Type: a creditors’ voluntary liquidation, with the liquidator appointed by the members and creditors
- Liquidator: Darren Brookes of Milner Boardman & Partners, Grosvenor House, 22 Grafton Street, Altrincham
A creditors’ voluntary liquidation is the route a company’s owners take when it cannot pay its debts. The liquidator’s job is to sell what the company owns and share the money among the people it owes.
What the accounts show
The company was incorporated on 28 April 2022, with a registered office in Little Stanney, near Chester. (Companies House)
Its most recent accounts, for the year to 30 April 2025, were filed in January 2026. They show:
| At 30 April | 2024 | 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Net liabilities | £191,869 | £361,753 |
| Owed to creditors within a year | £538,498 | £703,142 |
| Cash at bank | £3,049 | £5,309 |
| Fixed assets | £332,158 | £308,900 |
(Accounts to 30 April 2025, Companies House)
The small-company accounts do not include a profit and loss account, so they do not show the restaurant’s takings.
Companies House began compulsory strike-off action against the company twice, in September 2025 and again in September 2026. Both times the action was discontinued within a day of the notice. Its confirmation statement, due by 6 July 2026, is still shown as overdue. (Filing history, Companies House)
We could not find a statement from the business about whether or when the restaurant stopped trading.
What it means for you
- If you hold a Pendergast gift voucher or paid a deposit, you are likely to be an unsecured creditor. The Gazette notice gives Milner Boardman & Partners as the contact, on 0161 927 7788.
- If you supplied the business or worked there, contact the liquidator with what you are owed.
- Unsecured creditors are paid last, after the costs of the liquidation and any secured or preferential claims, and often receive only part of what they are owed.
The company or the liquidator can contact us through our corrections and complaints page if anything here needs adding.
