Warrington Panto: Aladdin, 13 Shows, From £9 at Parr Hall

Warrington’s pantomime this year is Aladdin at Parr Hall, Palmyra Square South, WA1 1BL. It opens on Wednesday 30 December 2026 and closes on Sunday 10 January 2027, and every performance is already on sale. (Parr Hall)

The thing to know before you plan a date around it: the run is billed as 30 December to 10 January, but there are only thirteen performances across seven days. Five days inside the run have no show at all, including New Year’s Day and the whole of Monday 4 to Thursday 7 January.

Every performance

New Year’s Eve is a 1.30pm matinee only. There is no evening show on 31 December, and nothing at all on 1 January.

What it costs

Tickets are advertised from £9, with published bands at £9.00, £11.00, £13.50, £15.50, £16.00, £17.50, £18.00 and £20.00. Those are all quoted excluding fees.

On top of the ticket price, Culture Warrington charges:

• £1.75 per ticket when you book online
• £1.75 per transaction when you book in person or by phone
• a £1 restoration levy on tickets priced at £10 or more, applied automatically. Tickets below £10 are exempt. (Culture Warrington)

That is an unusual shape, and it is worth doing the arithmetic. Four tickets booked online carry £7.00 in fees; the same four booked by phone carry £1.75. That calculation is ours, from the venue’s own published rates, and it is not something the venue points out.

Two offers are running:

• 10th Ticket Free: buy ten or more and get one in ten free

Who is in it

Two Coronation Street names lead the cast. Steven Arnold, a Warrington man and former Sir Thomas Boteler pupil, plays Wishee Washee. Helen Flanagan plays the Spirit of the Ring.

Daniel Dean returns for a fifth year, this time as the villain Abanazar rather than his usual comic sidekick role. Robby Khela takes the title role in his Parr Hall debut. Anthony Proctor, a former Culture Warrington board member, doubles as Sgt Pepper the Policeman and the Genie of the Lamp. Freya Freda plays Princess Jasmine and Rob Stuart-Hudson plays Dame Betty Bubbles.

Accessible performances

Only two of the thirteen are adapted, and both are in the second week:

• Saturday 9 January, 9.45am: relaxed and dementia friendly. Lower sound effect volumes, fewer flashing lights, no pyrotechnics and no strobe lighting.
• Sunday 10 January, 11am: signed, with a British Sign Language interpreter standing to one side of the stage.

Companion tickets and wheelchair spaces must be booked directly with the box office, on 01925 442345, not online. There is step free access at the main entrance through a power assisted door 130cm wide, an accessible toilet on the ground floor needing a radar key from a member of staff, a drop down baby change in it, and assistance and guide dogs are welcomed into the performance.

There is free on-street Blue Badge parking on Palmyra Square North, opposite Knightsbridge Court.

Parr Hall, not the Pyramid

Book carefully if you are searching by venue name. The Pyramid arts centre next door is closed for redevelopment, so the panto is in Parr Hall itself. The two share a box office and are often listed together as “Pyramid & Parr Hall”, which is how the wrong venue ends up in a satnav.

The Pyramid is having a £4.9m renovation. Culture Warrington said on 27 August 2026 that the main construction work had finished and that it was in the final phase before reopening. It says it does not yet have an exact reopening date and will announce its relaunch plans as soon as possible. It blames the delays on the “significant and unanticipated complexities of the project within a historic building”, plus extra funded work on the Exhibition Hall and new technical equipment.
